Dream Travel Destinations & Things to do when you get there!

I have sooo many places I wish to travel to so putting the list down to just five is going to be extremely hard. Most of the places I want to visit are out of Europe as I have experienced a lot of Europe and so I wish to travel more outside Europe. These places aren’t in any specific order because I just couldn’t decide!

1. Japan

I have never experienced a culture like that of Japan or China so it would be fantastic. I would love to visit the capital, of course, Tokyo. I want to go for the busy city life, yet also other aspects. I would love to visit Mount Fuji, the temples and also The Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden which looks absolutely spectacular (it is a must for me to go at a time when the Cherry Blossom is out which I believe is early April in Tokyo). I would also love to visit Shanghai for these reasons as I have never been in a city like these due to the vastness and the business.

2. Iceland and Norway

These come under the same category as I would probably do both at once, or attempt to visit both at once. I have been to Lapland (the Northmost region of Finland) but I didn’t get to see the Northern Lights as this isn’t why we went. It is a huge dream of mine to see the Northern Lights and it can be achieved from many places, but these two are the ones I prefer the most. I would love to visit the capital of Norway (Oslo) which I may actually do the next time I go to Sweden as you can get a bus from Sweden to Oslo for fairly cheap (as well as to Copenhagen). Of course, I would love to swim in the blue lagoon. The place I most want to see the Northern Lights from is Lofoten in Norway. The dramatic views look insane and this is something I want to do really soon. blue lagoonoslolofoten

3. Thailand

Specifically Phuket and Bangkok, I would do these two in the same holiday. The city of Bangkok looks so exciting and when I go I need to stay in a hotel with a pool that overlooks the city! The city itself looks amazing to walk round but also the temples, the street food (being a huge lover of Thai food). I would, however, spend longer in Phuket. The beaches look spectacular, I especially want to visit Phi Phi Island and Tri Trang beach at Patong where elephants roam around the beach and you can swim with baby elephants. I also want to visit the white temple (Wat Rong Khun) as it looks absolutely beautiful.

4. Hawaii and The West Coast

I have never been to America and I have to say Hawaii does interest me much more than The West Coast. Yet, I would still visit The West Coast if I had a trip to Hawaii as it is so expensive to get there I may as well do more than one thing at once! On The West Coast, I haven’t really thought about where I would like to go although I know I would go to LA and possibly San Francisco. In Hawaii, I would love to hike the lesser known Haiku Stairs in Oahu. The state capital is located here and also Pearl Harbour where I would love to visit the museum.

5. Botswana

Again, somewhere completely different (In Africa) but also somewhere completely spectacular. I really, really, really want to go on a safari and Botswana just looks incredible. The culture is just something I have never experienced before but would love to. I want to visit the Okavango Delta reserve which is a river occupying many animals and on land, animals include; leopards, giraffes, rhinos and more. The mountain range in central Botswana also looks incredible (called the Tswapong Hills) and I would love to step for on these (the bottom of them atleast).

There are of course many many more places I would love  to go to such as The Great Barrier Reef, Morrocco, Turkey… the list is endless! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you have any great travel places, please recommend them in the comments I would love to hear them! Katy x

  1. I agree completely with your list. I have been lucky enough to visit a few of them but Botswana would be a real dream come true. I hope you get to visit some of those places.
