3 of the Best Cafe’s in Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Manchester will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because it’s my hometown but also because the city itself is so unique in many ways. My absolute favourite place in Manchester is The Northern Quarter, renowned for its unique bars, eateries and independent shops. Although I love writing about the far off places I have visited, I think it’s extremely important to also appreciate your home cities and so I may make Manchester more of a feature on my blog- depending if anyone is interested (such as the best vintage places etc).

1. Blue Daisy Cafe

This is a personal favourite of mine. It’s only a few minutes walk from Afflecks’ Palace and it’s super quirky and original. You can sit outside, which on the rare, warm sunny days is really sweet. The menu choice is also great, I would say one of the best for vegetarians and vegans. This is by far my favourite place for breakfast! I love the quirkiness of the exterior and also interior, it’s very different to theΒ most cafes which is what I love !

2. Nexus Art Cafe

Although I haven’t visited this cafe as much as Blue Daisy Cafe, I still really love this place. The menu choice is another great one, offering vegetarian and vegan dishes (mainly soups, sandwiches and baked potatoes). It perfectly comnines art with food in its cosy vibe and has an art showcase downstairs. What I love most about this place is how it celebrates local creativity, sourcing most of its art and its food locally. If you’re a big fan of reading, this is the perfect place to chill with a book in hand.

3. Home Sweet Home

Whilst Home Sweet Home is a much more well known cafe, I would still really recommend visiting, especially for its authentic American diner feel. Home Sweet Home definitely offers the best menu with the most choice, including homely traditional dishes, Tex Mex dishes, burgers and more. The cafe itself is really cute as the name suggests and perfect for a cake and a coffee. It also serves cocktails. My favourites here have to be the pulled pork and the milkshakes- you really cannot go wrong with this combo.

There are so many more cafe’s in The Northern Quarter and so many more around Manchester I would love to share with you in future posts, but these three are definitely my favourites. Thanks for reading & hope you enjoyed, Katy x
